Outside my window...
it's raining. It's been a bleh day as far as weather is concerned.
Giving thanks...
for all of us (except K'lyn) getting to Mass for the Assumption and an installation ceremony for me as secretary of my Carmel Community. Funny story: The priest was addressing each person by his first and last name and his position and duties he was elected for. When it was my turn, the priest simply said, "Nancy." I guess he just ran it all together, and that's what he came up with. The kids and Kevin have been joking all day calling me Nancy. It's turned into a game where I call them different names that begin with their letter.
In the schoolroom...
a lot is happening. We're making lists for supplies and ordering uniforms. We'll be in person until we're told we can't be if that happens. Masks are going to be optional, but I'll probably have my kids wear them. I'll wear mine except for when I'm teaching because no one will be able to understand me. I'm going to mask just to ensure I don't carry anything to my parents. Honestly, I'm already looking forward to Christmas break. :P
From the kitchen...
absolutely nothing. We went to visit Nana, Papa, Uncle Brian, and Aunt Paula this past weekend(this will be a separate blog). Since it's easier to get three meals on the road without being AIP/gluten&dairy free, Rory and I have been eating highly unhealthy. We keep saying, "today is my last hurrah" and then we eat bad again. For real though, I'll be getting back to healthy on Monday because I'm so bloated and inflamed. I feel like I look like the Michelin Man.
I am creating...
a community again. With this new co-op comes new friends. I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone and do a high school Bible Study for the kids of the co-op. Each month a different person will host, and the kids will all bring a snack. This is the first time our house has been big enough to host something like this.
I don't ever want to forget...
the memories already made in this house. It's quickly feeling like we've lived here for more than three months.
I am working on...
lesson plans. This year I'll be teaching 1st-3rd grade instead of kindergarten. I'm trying to adapt most of my plans, but we'll see.
I am reading...
St. Teresa of Avila. It's been a while, and I need some self-awareness that I always get from her.
I am praying...
for the Scharbach family who lost their 21yo son in a bike accident.
I am hearing...
Kevin taking orders for chinese.
Around the house...
this will be another blog. I have to take pictures. There's TOO MUCH.
One of my favorite things...
the ceiling fan in my bedroom. As I get older, I need the breeze. HAHAHA!
A few plans for this week...
I have lots of meetings at our new co-op, and I've already started teaching my religion class. We also have a field trip this Thursday with the co-op. This is the third time trying to have this field trip because it's been cancelled for weather and a hurricane so far. I'm worried to see what it'll bring this time!
Some pics for you:
