I Did A Pin!
I had a bit of a relapse of Pinterest lately when I figured out how to get it on my phone. Oy Vey! I kept seeing these eggs dyed with shaving cream. So the kids and I decided to try it. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised only because I've heard of so many epic fails with pins from Pinterest.
This wasn't that hard. We dipped the eggs in vinegar, so the color would stick better. Put shaving cream down, mix food coloring, and stir with something. We used popsicle sticks. Then you roll the egg around. You place it on a plate overnight all creamy and what not. The next morning, you wipe them all off. Here's it in pictures.
Pretty cool, huh? Now that we know it works we have to do more. Six eggs is not enough for this house! Happy Easter!

Happy Holy Week
Sorry about not blogging. We've been crazy busy. This past weekend we finished up our Dave Ramsey course at church. It was a success, and we're thinking about teaching it again in the fall. We'll have to check in with kid coverage and interest, so we'll see. Saturday was gym, birthday party, dinner, church, bed. Sunday was Ikea and tackling Kaelyn's room. Her dresser broke and she needed some sort of clothing storage and clutter control storage. We're hoping what we got is sufficient. I think it might be with her going through her things rather than just keeping everything because it's already there. Her clothing is already looking better at half it's size. She still has miles to go before she sleeps. Good thing it's spring break at school, and she only has to work evenings. ;)
Monday brought snow, and even though we home school there is still such a thing as a snow day. It's just not what you think. We still have school, and technically there should be no change, but the kids go CRAZY! I don't know what it is. I found myself bawling in the bathroom by 1030a that morning. I came out and got the kids ready to go outside. Then I got ready...and I went outside.
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not what you would call an "outside" person. Kevin takes the kids out to play. I go every now and then, but I can't tell you the last time I played in the snow. I can tell you the last time I made a snowman was when I was 8yo with my friend, Mary Kay.
I think I need some practice, but I did it. I think it did everyone good. The kids went out with Kevin later, so they got some extra play. The evening brought a gym class, so that helped. And because they were acting the farthest from angels, I made them make some...hoping it would infuse into them.
In case you're wondering...my infusion wish didn't happen. There's always the next snow, which around here could happen at any moment.

Quick Takes Friday
- Logan has my sense of humor. We have been known to play cards with the kids when Marley goes down. We're teaching Poker at the Bucy household. Tonight we had the pleasure of Kaelyn joining us. While we were playing Logan says, "How do you wake Kaelyn up in the morning?" We said, "how?" He said, "wait until 11." Folks, it was so funny. We were all laughing. It's so weird when your kids are their own people. Do you know what I mean? I love when their unique and quirky personalities shine through and give you a little glimpse of who they are. Rory did really well one hand. She showed Kevin her cards and had 3,4,5,7 in spades and 9 of diamonds. Kevin said all she had to do was turn in the 9 and try to get a 6 of spades. She traded the card and said, "Ok, I got it. Now what?" Our jaws dropped and Kevin immediately said, "You have to go play Papa." He's known to be a bit of a card shark. Rory's been talking about playing him ever since...even though her hands tonight weren't so great.
- It has been a busy week, and it wasn't supposed to be. Don't you hate those? Do you know what's gotten me through? It's so sad and might change your opinion of me. I have one Diet Pepsi a day. Just the thought of it puts a smile on my face no matter what. That probably means I should cut it out again...
- The kids have been playing Just Dance 4. The song "Istanbul (Not Constantinople) is one of their favorites. Kaelyn took video of them tonight. I need to so you can see. They're hilarious. Maybe I should just do that rather than drink Diet Pepsi. This might work.
- We have our first free day this Sunday. That means that nothing major is going on. I don't know what we're going to do with ourselves. I'm planning on getting some house work done, but I think we'll end up at Ikea. Kaelyn's on spring break next week which means she'll be able to work on her room and get it in order...especially once she has her storage stuff. I'm hoping we'll have time to get some things other than Ikea scratched off the list.

Cancer Card
I had my last chemo last Wednesday. Coincidentally on the same day Pope Francis was picked. I think that's a good sign, don't you? Anyway, not that I'm not tired enough, but Rory was sick again last night. The vomiting every 10 minutes thing again except she only did twice last night. Regardless, I slept on the floor in the living room again. She woke up at 4am to ask if she could watch TV. I'm surprised she made it through the night.
I'm telling you all this because I am pooped. My sister's birthday was Saturday along with Marley's dance. Today was Carmel and dinner at the in-laws for it. Now I'm on a work call/Facebook event something or other. I loosely have school planned for tomorrow. When I'm not prepared it doesn't go very well. Hopefully I get a pleasant surprise and all goes as planned. We're supposed to get snow again tonight too after playing at the park without our jackets yesterday. I'm confused and I'm sure this weather does nothing but help the viruses going around.
So tonight I'm playing the cancer card and not really blogging although I'm on my third paragraph. I have no pictures either and should be shot. Oh wait! I have a picture.
Kaelyn drew this just messing around. I think she's missing her calling, but I kind of understand it too. She likes to draw and create when she wants to. She doesn't want to get paid to create what she's TOLD to. Anyway, mad talent up in here. Peace out!

Time Change
It's been busy around these parts lately. Our weekend was all hustle and bustle. Rory had her last basketball game, and actually made a shot. I had a good Thirty-One party Saturday evening. Sunday was Nana's birthday celebration. Papa came home Saturday and is doing well.
For Sunday we didn't change the clock on the kids' room. We wanted them to get up at 730a thinking it was still 630a. We had to get to 9a Mass, so I came up the stairs expecting to see them up, and they were still asleep! Of all the days to decide to sleep in. I was pretty upset, but we got them up and off to church on time.
Kevin, the kids, and I are going to shadow at a home school school tomorrow. If all goes well, we're looking at this option for the upcoming school year. I hate saying that I can't do it all, but I'm starting to see that I can't.
Wednesday is my last chemo for now...we think. We're seeing the doc beforehand to see where we stand. It'll be nice to not have that hanging over my head anymore...except for the bills.
Then it's resting the remainder of the week. Chemo normally takes a couple days to recover from just with being tired and blah. This weekend proves to be another busy one with my sister's birthday and St. Patrick's Day.
I don't have much else than that. I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten about you, but it's just crazy busy here. I'll leave you with a picture.
They were very proud of their stuffed animal tower.

Happy Birthday, Nana!
Today is my mother-in-law's birthday. Unfortunately my father-in-law is in the hospital, and she's spending her day there. If you can spare some prayers, we would appreciate it. Here is Nana's birthday acrostic.
N- NIFTY KNITTER Nana makes blankets of all kinds for numerous people. Anytime I tell her that one of my friends is pregnant, they get a baby blanket. She doesn't even know these people, and she makes them a blanket. Since none of my friends are prego without a blanket already, she's making them for the grandchildren. They all already have one, but she's going for round two.
A- ALWAYS THERE In a drop of a hat, Nana will come running if her family needs her. Whether it's babysitting, a meal, an ear, her car...she'll willingly and happily give it.
N- NURTURING See above. Heck, she even feeds the squirrels along with the birds in her yard. She tries to take care of everyone so much that at times she neglects herself.
A- AUDIBLE One of Nana's favorite things is to listen to books on tape (on her Ipod) while she crochets. She's always talking about a book she's listening to. I think she's branching out into her Kindle now too. She deserves some downtime. I wouldn't be surprised if she were listening to something and crocheting something while sitting with Jerry.
Thank you, Nana, for all your love, support, and help. Happy, Happy Birthday! We love you!

March Madness
I think this title refers to basketball or something, but with my love of alliteration I'm going to use it.
Outside my window...
It's dark and cold. It's been flurrying all weekend, and there's talk of a BIG winter storm coming this week. I doubt it but wouldn't that be something?
I am thankful for...
some progress on the house. Marley is sleeping in Rory and Logan's room for the first time tonight. I say that lightly because she just came out to go to the bathroom. We gave some of our baby furniture to some friends out of her old room, and things are coming along to get everything switched around. Our main first goal is to finish the laundry room. It's Kevin's office and needs some insulation and dry wall, so he can have some heat in there! Of course warmer weather will be on the way soon, but even then he could be cool instead of hot.
I am thinking about...
next school year. I don't know why. I just drive myself crazy. I'm also thinking about an activity for Rory. She wants horse back riding lessons, but those are SO expensive.
In the schoolroom...
Our workboxes are up and running. I like them. I think the kids are liking them. We hit certain things everyday, and they're getting easier to set up in the evenings. I say this and we haven't done much school since Logan was sick. Nose to the grindstone this week.
From the kitchen...
Kevin has been cooking. We're still chugging on. Our meal plan is not done at the beginning of the week, but the night before. At least we get something thawed. Whatever works!
I am creating...
School work. I got a laminator from Walmart, and we have been having a time with it. Kevin's getting in on the action too. A lot of Marley's work needs laminating. It's been fun!
I am working on...
sticking to my guns and not being so wishy washy. The kids pick up on it, and then they become wishy washy. I do not want wishy washers. ;)
I am reading...
my Carmelite readings still. This includes my workbook, The Liturgy of the Hours, and The Interior Castle. It's A LOT of reading.
I am praying for...
The Cardinals...specifically Walter Kasper. I did an "Adopt a Cardinal" thingy, and that's who I got to pray for. I'm not sure what I think about it, but I'm praying for him all the same.
I am hearing...
Downton Abbey. It's was bound to happen. I couldn't take everyone talking about it, and me not knowing what they're talking about.
Around the house...
things are getting on like I said. I'm excited to get this place decluttered. I keep complaining about how small it is, but we have so many things in it. Maybe it would feel bigger decluttered.
One of my favorite things...
Sundays. ;) It's Lent.
A few plans for the rest of the week...
school, school, school, Dave Ramsey, Thirty-One Party.
A picture thought for you...
Logan's on the left and Rory's is on the right. I haven't got the numbers on Rory's yet. Marley's are to the left, and she doesn't have ten boxes. She only has six. Keep on keepin' on.
