Happy Birthday Kaelyn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it's been a while, but there's nothing to bring me out of my absence like a teenager. Kaelyn is 15 today. 15! While she drives me crazy most days, she's a good kid. She's got a good head on her shoulders and puts me in my place more than I'd like to admit. So here are 5 things you may not know about Kaelyn.

1. She's eats the ends off of both sides of her french fry and then eats the middle.

2. She eats her food one at a time. If her plate has meat, rice, and corn...she'll eat all her meat, then all her rice, then all her corn. She doesn't mix it up and take bites of each.

3. She'll make a hot pocket, and then put it in the freezer for a HALF HOUR before she eats it.

4. She works best under pressure.

5. She's honest, creative, crafty, gorgeous, funny, intelligent and caring.

I'll always remember her like this...five years old and spunky.

Happy Birthday, Kaelyn. I love you.

Kids and Cameras

Sometimes I show you pictures that were taken by Rory and Logan when they get my camera. Well, this is one of those blogs. I'm just going to roll the footage. Enjoy!
I have no words for this. I just....I don't know. I'm ashamed.
These are just a few of the good ones. Rory's pretty good at taking good pictures of herself. I can't even do that. Anyway, I'm sure this will be one of those, "I knew them when..." type deals. Until then...that poor humiliated horse.

Kevin got the answer right...pneumonia is not contagious.

Man Down!

My father-in-law, Jerry, went into the hospital this morning. He was incoherent. He's been diagnosed with pneumonia and low blood sugar. They kept him overnight, and HE thinks he'll be getting out tomorrow. In the meantime...some people had some things they wanted to say to him.

Nicole - "Hope you feel better. Kaelyn just stuck her foot in my mouth."

Kaelyn - "I love you so much. I hope you feel better. For the record, her (Nicole) mouth was closed, and I still have the taste of her feet in MY mouth!"

Rory - "Dear Papa, I hope you feel better. I had so much fun today. I hope you had fun too. I love the winter. Do you too? Write me back when you feel better. Love, Rory."

Samantha - "Hope you get well soon. I love you, and I only want the best for you. Love, Sam."

Marley - " (silence)"

Logan - "Papa...I want to dress up some week. I hope you feel better. See ya later alligator. After a while crocodile...but not right now."

Nora - "We were going to make cards but then remembered the blog. This of all the trees we just saved! Hope you feel better soon. By the way, a little extreme to get out of having us to dinner don't ya think? JUST KIDDING!!!!! Love you, Nora."

Brian and Kevin were asked for messages, but you know boys and their feelings. Neither knew what to say. In honor of your recovery, the quote and question are dedicated to you.

Get well soon!
The answer to the long corner/short corner question was hockey.

Narley Marley

Marley has been chugging along this whole time learning and experiencing new things. She still loves to play DS and has taken a special interest in books as of late. I think she may be an early reader, as she already tries to write too. Here is the latest book she's reading...A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Steinbeck. It may seem a little advanced, but she can handle it.

They grow up so fast. Peace!

The answer to yesterday's question can be any of the following:
Words with no vowel in them: Myth, Fly, Sky, Dry, Cry, Rhythm, Crypt

I'm Back!

So, that was a nice break...NOT! It's been hectic, but it's getting better. This blog is going to be catch-up...not to be confused with ketchup. BLECH!

To start off the show, we have Logan. Logan's hair was getting pretty long. So long that there was a little rat tail in the back. We have clippers that I cut Kevin's hair with, so we got them out, put Logan on the front stoop for the world to see, and I cut his hair. Normally, he doesn't like the sound of the clippers and is a bit squeamish at the hair cutter's when they use them, but he did good. I think he knew that once it started, it couldn't be stopped. Here is a run down of the scene.

Ok, so I messed up on one part, but he can't see it. Besides, it doesn't look that bad. He looked in the mirror after wards and thanked me for cutting his hair...over and over again. He must like it then. And for those of you upset at Logan's hair cut, I had it on a longer setting and Kevin said to go to the next shorter one. So there!

On another day Logan wanted to play K-Nex. This is something that is normally played with daddy because boys are better at putting things together...so I hear. But this time Logan wanted ME to put together a robot. I've only ever done a turtle! I started into it and built the first half backwards. It was right, but backwards. Once I got it straightened out, I built the rest of it, and it looked great. Logan took it and tried to roll the wheels, and they wouldn't move. Whatever. I told him he had to lift it off the little wheels and just ride it on the big one in front that turned. He was fine with this.

Other than that, illnesses are flying, kids are laughing, and grown-ups are trying to get some sleep. Sounds like things are getting back to normal. Hope you all had a good break, and I'm glad to see you back. It made me realize that I blog for my kids. They like looking at the pictures and reading the posts. For a while there I was obsessed with comments, but this break has made me realize it's not about the comments...it's about the memories. Thanks for sharing them with us.

By the way, I paid Kaelyn to get her haircut. With the money she purchased hair dye, brown eyeliner, and lip gloss. Here's what we ended up with...

Alright, enough goop...Smell ya later!

I Regret To Inform You...Again

I will be taking a short break from blogging. I have some things going on and something's gotta give, so it's going to be this for the week. I will return to my regularly scheduled blogging next Monday. Sorry to the five of you that read this. I will be back!

The answer to yesterday's question is Auguste Rodin.

Happy Halloween!

Things kicked in to full gear this weekend with Rory sick. She had a high fever on Friday, threw up at my in-laws house, and then threw up every half hour on the half hour from 330a-730a Saturday morning. Saturday, she was recovering with a very low grade fever and progressed throughout the day enough to make it to trick-or-treating.

It was a great time until it started to rain the 4th house in. Marley was waddling along trying to keep up as Rory and Logan went door to door. People kept trying to give her candy, and by the end of it, we just let them because it was too much of a hassle to keep refusing. Besides, she was so cute. How could you not want to give her candy?

Funny story about Saturday...we went to my in-laws for dinner and trick-or-treating. When we drove up we saw a bunch of notes taped to people's doors...townhouse to townhouse. Kevin made a comment that he didn't know what the notes were for, but he hoped they weren't what he was thinking. He later explained to Kevin's dad (who put the notes on the people's doors because he is HOA president and was announcing an HOA meeting) that Maryland police had issued a statement that all registered sex offenders were to put a note on their door stating, "Sorry, no candy" and have their lights out and not answer the door. So when we pulled in, we thought there would be no trick-or-treating at Nana and Papa's. :) Kevin's dad is currently thinking about retiring his HOA position in light of recent events. :) Just kidding...

Sunday we went to my parent's to celebrate my dad's birthday. Driving all the way to Virginia is such a task that we like to go down in the morning and spend all day there. So Sunday morning we planned to be there by 830a for Mass with my parents. I was on I-270 in the rain and looked in my rear view mirror only to see flashing lights. I pulled over and screamed, "What God?!?! I really don't know what you're trying to tell me here!!!" The officer walked up and said, "Where are you going?" I told him I was trying to make it to my parent's church on time to which he said, "I'm not going to give you a ticket, but do you know how fast you were going?" I told him I didn't. He said, "You were going 90 in the rain with this car full of kids. I was hydroplaning just to catch up with you. You must have been right on the edge of hydroplaning. Have some common sense and slow down especially with all these kids in the car." I said, "ok" and went on my way never going faster than 70 and still making it my parent's church 10 minutes early. I don't think there's ever been another time that God had answered my question so clearly. I didn't speed on the way home either.

For those of you that might comment on my excessive speeding, I really didn't know I was going that fast. That probably makes you more mad. When we pulled away Kevin said that I should've told him he needed new tires if his were hydroplaning to catch up with me. Kaelyn said that probably would've gotten me a ticket.

Other than that, Rory's fever is back, so she gets to go to the doctors tomorrow. It's just non-stop action at the Bucy's. Feel free to NOT stop by. :)

Check ya later!

The answer to Friday's question, "What is a rhino's horn made of?" is hair.

Italy - Day 4

On Tuesday morning of our trip, we woke early.  We had an appt. for a Scavi Tour at 930a and had to be there at 915a.  When Kevin called t...
