End of June Daybook

Two blogs in one month, I just made it.  We are in the calm before the storm, Storm Canada.  They arrive tomorrow.  It's very exciting.  Seester, her family, and a female plus one of my nephew's.  It should be interesting.  I don't have to do all the cleaning right now, but I am trying to help my mom with her cleaning.  Hopefully we both make it.

Outside my window...

It's hazy.  We have poor air quality from fires in Canada, and it's wreaking havoc.  Marley stays up to speed with it and lets us know whether we can walk the dog and such.  Sometimes it's just poor air quality for special groups like children and elderly, and other times it's bad for everyone.  Today I think it's just the certain groups.  Other than that, it's bright and sunny and 85 degrees today for the high.

I am thankful for...

Therapy.  It's hard and sucks, but I think it's going to be worth it.

I am thinking about...

Next year.  What's it going to look like since I'm not teaching?  I keep telling Kevin I need a hobby, but he seems to think I'll be plenty busy even if I'm not teaching.  It's scary.  I've been teaching for 10 years, and I've lost my spot at our co-op for the class I teach.  Someone else is teaching it, so it's not like I can get it back next year if I want.  I would have to teach something new.  We'll see what God has in mind.

In the Schoolroom...

I'm having the kids still do math over the summer.  Marley and I just started a Bible Study for Mothers/Daughters.  It's going well so far.  We're only a week into this "schooling" schedule.

From the kitchen...

I'm mostly AIP again.  I'm trying at least, but I've been having some chocolate which isn't AIP.  Rory has gone vegan, so that's something new.  I have a couple meals that I can make that she can eat too.  I'm making one tonight since it has no meat.  The kids have adopted Lean Cuisines to fill in gaps of not liking what's for dinner.  It's costing a pretty penny though with the inflation.

I am creating...

Embroidery.  K'lyn got me some for my birthday, and I've been trying to figure it out.  I know how to do one flower so far, so I'm doing all those flowers on my pattern so far.  It's a lot slower than cross-stitching, and I have been known to not be very patient.  It's a well kept secret.

I am working on...

a schedule.  Instead of just willy-nilly for my days, I'm being intentional.  It normally starts with schooling of Marley, then we work for an hour on Poshmark (we're finally getting all those clothes listed and hopefully sold and out of the house), then lunch and meditation, and...This is where I normally fall off the schedule.  I want to put embroidery in the afternoon, but I have a lot of cleaning too, so sometimes that takes precedence.  I started this whole schedule business, so that I could just spend some time on things and leave them for the next day instead of having to finish them.  My focus is not feeling like I could be doing something "better" instead of embroidery.

I am reading...

My bookclub with the church has paused, so I'm reading books that I pick up here and there on the faith.  I'm trying to read spiritual books because I don't want to give my mind time to idle on things that are not of God.  Spiritual growth happens through spiritual reading, and I want to grow.

I am praying for...

my marriage and family.

I am hearing...

the trash truck coming around and Marley watching TV.  I am smelling popcorn that she just made.

Around the house...

cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning.  Gotta get ready for Canada which involves getting rid of any evidence that we have pets.  In the summer months when they're losing their coats, it feels impossible.

One of my favorite things...

word searches.  I have a book by the couch that I pick up almost every evening and during the day sometimes.  It's something I'm actually good at.  I haven't found a good word search pen yet, but other than that, they do the job of finishing something.  HA!

A few plans for the rest of the week...

CANADA!

A picture thought...

This is the epitome of Mouse.  He means business.  I can't get over the stank face!
