All Videos...All the time

This is going to take me forever tonight because loading videos takes forever. I got such good responses on the pics of the kids flying, I thought I'd get some other interesting "flying" stuff. Again, those with queasy stomachs need not watch.

As you can see, it looks like Marley is really enjoying herself. Now with this next one, Rory did not get hurt. She does this all the time, but every time it's for the camera, she says something about her getting hurt or about to be sick. Again, it's only for the camera. I promise.

So there you have it. It looks so fun to be them, doesn't it?

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

Is anyone else getting sick of song analogies? Is analogies even the right word to use there? It doesn't sound right. I don't know. Anyway, we had torrential downpours this afternoon. We opened the door when it started because isn't that what you're supposed to do? When I was growing up, my parents had us open the doors when it rained. I always thought it was a Filipino thing, but who knows. The one thing I always wanted to do was run out the door and play in it. So...that's what I did. Well, not me, but the kids. Not all the kids, just Rory and Logan. Oh, nevermind.

Not only did I send them out, but I told them to stand still while I took pictures.

I threw them in the shower immediately after this was done, which was my only stipulation. And just because it's a great picture, I'm going to add this one of Marley. She is the perfect height at 9 months for the Rose Petal Cottage.

WARNING: DO NOT LET CHILDREN PULL THEMSELVES UP USING THE WALL OF THE ROSE PETAL COTTAGE. MAY CAUSE COTTAGE TO FALL OVER. YES, I AM SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE.

Can You Take Me High Enough?

So I was watching the Today Show, and they had the cast of Broadway's "Rock of Ages" performing. They sang the 80's song "Can you take me high enough?" by Damn Yankees. Anywho, some pics I got today made me think of this song. Let me start with the disclaimer that no children were hurt in these videos or pictures. :)

Sorry this is blurry. I tried to edit it, but I don't have Photoshop. This is Kevin throwing Rory into the air. I got her mid-air and thought it was the greatest picture ever taken and then found out it turned out blurry. I was really disappointed. I got a clear one, but she wanted to have a mad face on, so...well...she looks mad.
She's a weird, tired child. Don't ask. Of course, Logan is a little follower, so he had his turn next.

I know. I can hardly believe I got this shot myself. I LOVE IT! Now I mentioned that Logan follows Rory, but tonight...Rory was following Marley. That's right. Here comes Marley. Please look away if you are of a squeamish stomach sort...NANA!

Don't worry. It only gets worse, but that's for later. You might be asking what Kaelyn was doing while all this was going on. Well, I'll show you.

Ha Ha Ha Ha...HoHumHaHa!

Ha Ha Ha Ha...Sorry...it'll never get old.

Now for the worst of it all. I got the whole throwing Marley in the air on tape. She just loves it so much. Whenever she comes down, you can tell. She's just freaking. But that's not the best part of this whole video. The action is in the background. Watch Logan. Every time Kevin throws her up, he has to play a note on the piano. It's so funny to see. I cracked up! Enjoy!

Ode to a Phone

This is an AT&T LG Xenon Cell Phone. It is Kaelyn's dream at the moment. Kevin and I have decided that we bought her a perfectly good cell phone last year, so we are not going to help her upgrade to this one. She has to get the money herself. She's been fooling with the idea of getting her worker's permit. As her mother, I don't know whether to encourage or discourage this with what I know about Kaelyn. She says, "I can work really hard if I want to." It's that last "IF I WANT TO" that has us scared. We told her this, and she gave us her fourteen-year-old eye roll. You all know what I'm talking about. Until she decides whether she wants to actually work, she's been doing paid chores from our list. There's not much on this list, but there are a couple big ticket items that I'm paying high for so that I don't have to do them. One of them is cleaning the garbage and/or recycling bin. It's $10 per bin. I thought this would never happen because she hates being outside with all the bugs. Well, today she came to me and asked if she could do this. Her explanation was that it's raining, so the bin is already wet and the bugs aren't out. I agreed because who am I to pass up this picture perfect extortion opportunity. I'm her mother, and I believe it's actually written into my job description to take advantage of times like this...and being the good mom that I am...

I missed the pictures of her INSIDE the thing cleaning it out. I don't think I'll ever forgive myself.

Look how thorough she is. She even got the bottom.

Take a good look at this picture. And then look at this...

Her hip may be the other way, but it's the same stance. It's the same sass. That's just crazy to me. So here's to Kaelyn who has another $50 to go until she gets her phone. But wait! There's more. Her plan is going to cost her $40 a month, and she says she plans on cleaning for an hour for 5 days a month after school. Cleaning for an hour on our paid chore chart is $8. And that is how maids are born. Just kidding! Kevin and I are pratically biting our fingernails to see how this turns out. It's her first big purchase herself...without our help. I'll keep you posted.

The Best Intentions

I was really planning on taking pics this weekend to let you all know what we did this Memorial Day weekend. It didn't turn out that way. Sorry. I was hoping for a little more relaxing than what happened this weekend, but that's ok. I didn't have to cook dinner once! I did get some good footage of some things, so bear with me...or is it bare with me? I don't know (read: care) Kevin was playing with Marley by screaming at her, and Marley responded in the same manner. The little devil even let me get it on camera.

The ending of this is the best part. When Logan comes running up and Kevin shakes him on his legs. It's something they do often, and the kids love it. Isn't Marley funny? I guess I would be a little upset if someone was attacking my face with their hand. Of course, in this picture, I was decluttering, so you can't see how my kitchen counters are normally spotless these days. Oh well. If I weren't so tired, I would go upstairs and take a pic to post them clean, but I am so I won't. These next two videos are what happen when Logan and Rory get a little taste of the fun of shaking. Poor Kevin and his legs. He had them up on the chair, so it wasn't as good as he normally does it. I don't think the kids noticed.

Sorry they're sideways. You can still enjoy them. Up next...Rory.

Doesn't this look like fun? Happy Memorial Day!

Not feeling it

I just got back from the gym, and I'm tired. I have a lot to do for tomorrow. For those of you that don't know, I have my scans tomorrow. I'm trying to get the breastmilk Kevin will need to feed Marley out and figure out how I'm going to do everything else tomorrow morning. I can't eat after 9a and at 1230p I have to down 16 ounces of water. Lovely. When I'm done my scans, I'm coming home and taking Kaelyn to Red Lobster. We're having a date. :) I don't know what's after dinner. I have to see what time it is and what's going on at home. I figure I should take advantage of not having to be here to feed Marley. So everything is going to fall on Kevin. God help him! I know that he is more than capable...to follow my guidelines. :)

I'm sure nothing is there and the scans will be negative for cancer. Just in case though, prayers are welcome. I'm going to turn in for the night. Good night!

Miscellaneous

I don't know what to title this one. It's a bunch of mixed stuff. I'll save the best for last. First up, we have Rory at her graduation. They had the kids dressed up in colonial costumes for a skit. Rory was a tea lady.
Next up...we got the car track out today. Logan and I played it for a while. We didn't run the cars around the track. Instead he kept crashing two cars into one another and I (another car) had to give them timeouts. Eventually, the timeouts didn't work, so we used some of Logan's tools to separate the cars on the track, so they couldn't crash into each other anymore. After that stopped working, we used a Marley.
Sorry about the pic. It's that darn orange flash again. So I tried again.

And again...

I tried to cover the flash on this one until the last minute. Didn't work.

After all this, Rory came home from school. It was field day today. Not only did I send my daughter to FIELD DAY in long sleeves on an 80 degree day, I forgot to put on sunscreen. Thank you...Thank you...I proudly accept this "Bad mom" award. I'd like to thank...just kidding...kind of...OK not really. Here's my lobster.

While at the field day, one of her classmates brought in a baby chick. Rory loves chickens as many of you know. We pet sit for chickens, and Rory chases them and picks them up to put them in the coop at the end of the day. Anyway, she got to hold a baby chick today, and I'm not too sure it went so well. I think we might have gotten rid of the baby chick desire. This is what it did to her.

Yes, those are chicken scratches. It also got her on the neck, but that pic didn't come out right.

Moving along...Nana and Papa went to see a bunch of dead presidents for their anniversary. They picked Logan up this hat for a souvenir. He has to wear it outside all the time now. He looks adorable.
Here's what happened when I asked him to smile and not say cheese. Here's a pic of him just asking him to smile. He says cheese.

Here's a Logan story for you. He always looks at me and says, "Why you mad mommy?" I just have a normal face on when he asks me this, so I guess I always look mad. (No comments please) So today after he asked me for the hundredth time why I was mad, I put my head down on my arms. Logan says, "Why you sad mommy?" I said, "I'm not sad Logan...or mad. I'm just tired." I said all that while laughing and he says, "Oh, you happy mommy?" I told Kevin that somehow we have managed to create a blond hair, blue-eyed, asian talking boy. Moving on...

The best for last now. Kaelyn went to the eye doc today to check on her contacts and received her new glasses. Here is a video of some crazy art that she's doing for art class with her glasses on. They're making mugs and they have to sketch a design on them. Kaelyn free-handed this design from the web and is now free-hand etching it onto her mug.

Here's a recap...

Doesn't she look like a completely different person? She looks older. Yikes!

Weekend Fun

Not much happens in our little town besides houses blowing up and fairs. We had our little town fair this weekend. We always go. Rory always goes on the big slide.

She loves this slide. This year the people were paying attention and made her go down on her bottom. Sometimes they're not paying attention and she goes down head first. We're fine with this. Logan won't have anything to do with this slide. Last year he went down with Kevin once and never again. He wouldn't even get in the moon bounce this time and there was no one else in it!

He did, however, do this.

It's a tattoo on his leg. Kevin says Logan picked it out himself. When you ask Logan what his name is, he says Tiger Bucy...Bucy doesn't quite sound like that, but since I'm a lady, I won't tell you what it sounds like.

Rory got these hearts. Her middle name has nothing to do with hearts. :)

We also play this game. We're very careful to make sure the kids don't hear the guy say that we can have a bucket with a fish in it for a little more money. Rory came really close this time to winning a fish. She was really upset and wouldn't shut up about not winning a fish, so guess what she got for her graduation from kindergarten present.

This is Shimmer. That string hanging off is a "rumble in her jungle." Rory asked why Shimmer wasn't eating today and what was wrong with her. I'm thinking a) he's mad because his name is Shimmer. b) he's mad because she's a he. or c) he/she's constipated. It doesn't matter since my sister told me today that he/she will probably die. (she meant it in a nice way because of her pet store connection and going through goldfish buying with her boys)

So welcome Shimmer. She's been here a day and Rory's already asking for a hamster.

What Marley has Learned in Eight Months

Well, we all know that she has learned to crawl, laugh, and pull herself up to a stand. Here is some other valuable knowledge...

Papa is good.

Especially when he has food.

And toys.

Hats are good.

Stealing Logan's drink...bad.

Head to the nearest exit...especially with this family.

Never look back.

The grass isn't always greener.
She freaked out in the grass. She didn't really know what to think about it. Logan was the same way. (FYI...the grass has also been introduced to the lawn mower since this picture was taken)

And last but not least...slinkies are cool.

Back with Birthday Blogging

So now that all my ducks are in a row, and I have nothing going on except for Rory's graduation, her last day at school, and my scans...I figure I can get back to my blogging. I'm so behind that I'm starting with Rory's pool party pics and moving on from there. So sit tight and get comfy.

A couple of guys...

A couple more kids

Logan wouldn't go in, but he keeps asking to go back.

Awwwwww

Ditto

Don't try this at home

or this...

It was a little hot in there, so Miss Mar got to go nekid

What a great birthday!

This is the cake Rory picked. It's a cupcake cake...It's a wedding cake.

On that note, I'm going to wrap this up. It's been a LONG weekend. Tomorrow Rory graduates kindergarten. Coming up tomorrow, some great pics of Marley. She had a busy weekend!

Two for Two!

I made it back, and it wasn't that long!  Continuing on with the pic collage of 2026.  Here we roll... January This guy's birthday...
