Superheroes

Nana and Papa went to Walmart the other day and picked some jammies up for the kids. Logan got Superman jammies. Rory went through a phase where she had to wear the same outfit over and over again. It was only for a couple of days. Logan has hit this phase with his new Superman jammies. He wants to be in them all the time. To tell you the truth, I'm surprised they're Superman and not Batman. Papa is known for letting our kids watch Batman and eat jelly beans when they're still choking hazards. :)
Anyway, Logan's Superman jammies paired with Rory's Supergirl Halloween costume from last year are quite a pair for playing.
This morning they were running around saving all dolls and toys from near catastrophe. I had to pull Logan out of his playing to brush his teeth. Rory screamed, "Superman! Save me!" Logan replied in a bothered tone, "Hold on Supergirl! I'm brushing my teeth!" It was cute. Of course as with anything, it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. In this case, it was Marley.

We have a keychain of glass with Kaelyn's picture etched in it that lights up blue to illuminate the picture. It looks really cool. Anyway, it's on a string so Rory can wear it as a necklace. During superhero play, Rory said she lost her powers. I grabbed the keychain and put it in her hand and told her to concentrate and her powers would come back. She would know when they were back because the "crystal" would glow. She closed her eyes, and I pushed the button on the keychain to make it glow blue. And that's the long explanation for the prop in this story.

Logan got hold of the "crystal" and started swinging it. He caught Marley in the mouth, and she let out a crying fit that I haven't heard since she had colic at 2 months old. Logan got a timeout, and Marley got this.

See the red mark?

I know it doesn't look like it, but she's in a lot of pain. Really. So the lesson here is, "With great power, comes great responsibility." I guess as Supermom, which is what I was dubbed today along with Superbaby, A.K.A Marley, it is my mission to raise these heroes into greatness. I accept.

Technical Difficulties

I was trying to post a video, but it's not happening tonight. I don't know what's wrong with this puter. It worked fine last night. Anyway...I don't really have anything to report. We were going to go to the mall this morning, but Kaelyn decided to put her teenager hat on, so we didn't go because of her attitude. Instead we went to the park, where there were no kids for Rory and Logan to play with. So, Kaelyn got up and asked Rory if she would play with her. This kid constantly amazes me. It's a complete 180 from what she was that morning or last night for that matter. Darn Hormones!
She even did this for Kevin the other day. She's never one to admit that she likes you...yet, she did this.
She's so talented! I want one.

Mean Mommy!

So this weekend was the usual weekend. A lot of nothing went on. We had some fun and a couple of good days. The kids were quiet this morning, so that's always good...considering I have been making a bed out of Logan's changing table pad in the mornings. Even with me laying there, they're still being loud and talking and trying to get out of bed. They are bold, and they know what they want.
I was feeding Marley one of these nights, and her bib is a squeaking bib. You press on it and it squeaks. I would press on it a little and make a little squeak and Marley would immediately look down and get a serious expression on her face. Then she would start laughing. I finally decided to get it on camera. Here's what happened.

I didn't mean to make her cry. I think I just pushed it too hard that time. I feel really bad about it, but I still wanted to show it because she's doing the sniffing thing I was telling you about before. Also, I feel compelled to say that the counter no longer looks like that in the background. It's completely clean. I don't know about you, but I feel better. Have a great Monday!

Just Keep Swimming...Swimming...Swimming

We went to the pool today. That's all I have to say about that. JUST KIDDING! We went to a pool party yesterday for Rory's school. Logan wanted to get into the pool, but I had to feed Marley and didn't bring my suit. He was upset, but I didn't really think he'd want to get in because at Rory's birthday pool party, he just played outside the pool. Anyway, yesterday he really wanted to go in. It was one of those above ground pools, so the stairs weren't exactly sturdy. I promised him when we had to leave that we would go to the pool today. Plus, we didn't get to spend much time there, and Rory was upset that she couldn't swim longer too.
So today after naps we went to the pool. I got Marley a bathing suit last week, so it was to be her first time in the pool. She didn't take to it too well. Here's some proof.
Sorry, I wanted to show you this first. This is an outfit I got from Lucy's. It was so cute on her, and she got to wear it because it was HOT outside today. I normally don't put her in this stuff because it's air conditioned in the house, and outfits like these aren't called for. She's really cute in it even though it's pink. OK, now for the real show. I'm just going to roll them. People seem to like it better that way.
Sorry to interrupt. Look at the death grip she has on me. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

She just looks so unimpressed. It's not that she didn't like it. I think it was just something new and pretty soon she'll be loving it. She better or the beach isn't going to be a vacation. On to other kids, Logan actually got in the pool...the big pool.
Getting in.
Walking to the side.
Getting out.

And that's pretty much what he did the whole time. He went out to the deeper end with me, but he didn't like that I had to hold him. He's a very non-touchy pool person. He doesn't like riding on backs or floating while someone whisks him around. I kept offering, and he kept saying, "I said no." Onto Rory...she swam today...by herself...under water.

She had to hold her nose because she kept swallowing water. I have a picture of her after swallowing a bunch of water and her hair a mess, and she looks really upset, but Kevin won't let me post it. What a good daddy. The only reason why I wanted to post it was because she looked like Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias when she says, "Don't talk about me like I'm not here" and her lips look like a duck's bill. Sorry, I'm mean sometimes. It's an inherited trait that comes with giving birth.
Some of you might be asking, "What was Kaelyn doing?" Well, I'll show you.

Were you expecting something different?

Back-up Blog

I had a whole blog written out and was attaching a video to it, but it was taking too long. I'll try again tomorrow. Seriously, I was at an hour and counting. I don't think you'll mind my back-up blog except that I feel bad that it's the two rascals I just blogged about. That's the problem with four kids...trying to make sure each of them has their time in the limelight. For now, it's Logan and Marley again. They're always up for pictures, and the older ones have been gone at vacation bible school. It gets boring sometimes and you have to take pictures. I'm just going to roll them all instead of editing any of them, just so you can really get a feel for what a portrait session looks like with these two.

And that's all I have to say about that.

The Many Faces of Marley

When my cousin, Sherea, was a baby she would smoosh her face up like she was sniffing her upper lip and breathe in and out really fast. You would have to do this face to her for her to do it. It's been a while since I've seen it, since Sherea has grown up and is on baby number two. Enter Marley...
She breathes really fast in and out when she does this face now. Uh, Marley, are you ok?
Who me?
Oh, lol.
Why you laughing?

Just for you, I'll look at my parent's house for the picture we have of Sherea doing this face. We might even have one of me doing it. None of my kids take a bad picture. Great for my blog. 10-4 Good Buddy!

The Many Faces of Logan

We went to my parents this weekend to celebrate Father's Day with my dad. We had my dad's favorites which included some Filipino dishes. For dessert my mom had some M&M popsicles. I think all my kids had one...including Kevin. It was a fairly large popsicle..almost too much for Logan.

Remember the post about Marley not being allowed to get messy while eating because it freaks Kevin out?
You can only imagine what this did to Kevin. He actually took the picture. Not bad.

Another thing about Logan...you don't ever want to make him mad.
Why you mad, Logan? If this was the face I got every time I made him mad though, he'd be mad a lot. It's hard not to laugh when he makes this face. Poor Logan. He's trying to be mad and instead everyone's laughing at him. I wonder how much money in therapy that is.

Summertime Rolls

So the weather hasn't cooperated much for two kids that want to go to the pool. So Friday, I let them have a beach day at home. They both got new swimsuits, but Logan wanted to wear his old one. The couch was the ocean which meant they jumped on it the whole time. I didn't get a picture of the floor, but it had towels, blankets, and "beach bags" all over it. Here's what the kids looked like.

Kaelyn found this hat separate from the suit for Rory, but it matches beautifully. Logan's fish shirt that went with his swim trunks was in the wash. :( He was pretty upset about that.

They have the exact same smile in this picture.

Here's so you can see Logan's shorts. Rory's wearing her suit with her underwear on because I hadn't washed the suit from the store since she wanted to wear it. She didn't like it, but oh well.

And of course Marley had to get in on the action. How cute! These kids need to get to the beach! Two weeks and counting!!

Take Your Pic/k - Poll

So Kaelyn and Samantha are auditioning for the play Little Women tomorrow. We did their resumes last night, and tonight we did their head shots at the local Picture People. Loved the photographer and will be going to her from now on. Moving on...there were two pictures that Kaelyn liked. Well, there was only one, but I liked another one and the photographer liked the same one I liked. So I thought I would put it up as a poll. I need you guys to vote which you like best. Here's number 1...

This is the one that Kaelyn, Kevin, and Nana like.

This is the one that me and the photographer like. The photographer said that she liked the other one too, but sometimes the people are looking for a picture with personality, and this one has more personality than the other one. Plus, I think it captures her better than the other one... and I like the dimple. Kevin's argument is that the other one looks more professional. That's Kaelyn's take on it too. All I know is that if I were a director, I would choose the picture I like better...and it's not even that the other one is bad. It's just a preference thing.

So, you decide. The polls are open. Ask your neighbors at work, your spouses, your pets. I want everyone's opinion and I'm sure Kaelyn will appreciate it too. Voting lines are now open!

One more thing...sorry I had the whole blog done and then ran the pics back to Kaelyn and thought of a different viewpoint. For Kaelyn being 14 years old and auditioning for such roles, her head shot should look youthful and fun. When she's older and auditioning for more mature parts, it can look more professional. So this is just another argument for the pic that I like! :)

Ok, now you may vote!

Sacrifice!

Since you all know how I love pictures of myself, you'll appreciate this post. Kaelyn's missing, but I actually called Kevin into the room to take this picture.

Kevin didn't like this one because you couldn't see my whole face, so he tried again....but Logan escaped!
I love this pic of Marley. It's the orange flash. It's pretty bright now that I have been on the receiving end of it. This is all I've got tonight because I'm trying to figure out how to write up acting resumes. God help me!

The Future's So Bright...

Have you noticed how many blogs I've written about eating? I don't know the exact amount, but it has to be a lot. It seems like a lot. What you are about to see makes Kevin cringe. Actually, I don't know if cringe would describe it. This is Marley. She is eating a biter biscuit.

This is the mess Marley makes when she eats one of these things. Kevin can't stand it. Even when she's not eating a biter biscuit, if he feeds her, she can't put her hands in her mouth. Who ever heard of a baby not putting their hands in their mouths while eating? They have to. They have no choice, but Kevin tells her not to. It's sad.
When she eats one of these things, the best thing to do is take her out of the high chair and wash her hands under running water. A wet paper towel works for her face, but her hands are a different story. You can bet Kevin hates hearing me say, "While I'm gone, give her a biter biscuit." Knowing him though, he's feeding her ginger thins and telling me he's giving her a biscuit. Anyway, after she's all clean, it's smooth sailing.

Now that's what I'm talking about!

All I Want For Christmas...

Rory finally lost her front tooth. Unfortunately the other tooth is not that loose, so this might be one of those one follows the other rather than the cute both front teeth gone at the same time. She still looks cute though. She had been harping on this tooth for a while. When it finally came out, it did just that. It wasn't bells and whistles, it simply fell out.

This happened a while ago, but so much has been happening that I'm just able to post it now. Sorry! Meanwhile...Logan been hitting the Sunny D a little too hard. It's even watered down!

He's saying, "How ya doin' sweetie?" It's so cute. I like how he throws his arms up like a cheerleader at the end. If you thought that was funny, here's him dancing. He dances like his father.

What a weirdo!

The Funniest Joke I've EVER Made! IMO

IMO- In my Opinion

I would like you to know first off that the hardest part about this blog is choosing the title. Sometimes I get the title right away and other times I have to wait until I'm done writing the whole thing. It has to be catchy. It has to draw you in, hook you, make you want to read it. You'll read it anyway, but it's an OCD for me to have them coincide, so deal with it.

Onto the weekend...Friday was not a good day. I was overwhelmed with bad acting kids. It was really rough, so Kevin and I went to the movies even though it was supposed to be me and Kaelyn's date night. We saw Star Trek. It was ok. Unfortunately there are going to be more. Just kidding...kind of.

Saturday morning Kevin was out cutting Logan's nails and I was in the kitchen typing an email. There was a cracking sound. I told Kevin it sounded like a tree fell, and we saw it sitting on the back lawn. It was a bright, sunny day. The last tree branch fell in a storm and from a different tree! This is starting to worry me now. I'm just hoping one of them doesn't fall on a car going down the road and then we're sued. Kevin says it'll cost too much for a tree guy to come out and see which branches we need to cut. I can tell you that the branch that fell on Saturday was not one that looked like it was on it's last limb. HaHaHaHa..Ho Ho Ho...get it?! On it's last limb! Gosh I'm funny sometimes. Here's pics...

Saturday morning at 10a, Kevin got on a work call and didn't get off until 7p. It was not fun. It was a beautiful day, and I was trying to get the kids out to enjoy it. That's hard to do with Marley and her naps. Plus, the weekend is supposed to be my day off too, and I really needed it after Friday. I was trying to make dinner and Marley was crying for Kaelyn, and Rory and Logan were being loud while Kevin was trying to talk on the phone, and I just had it. I called Jerry and Renee to see if I could bring the kids down there for dinner, since they could play outside and not get run over. I was a little distraught in my call and poor Jerry was the only one home. He said we could come on down and he would play with them, and that maybe just the change of scenery would be enough for them. I felt bad calling in such hysterics. Guys don't really know how to handle that stuff. I figure that it gave him some practice considering he has 5 granddaughters. We ended up going to MacDonalds because they have an indoor play yard and free kiddie cones.

After all the kids were in bed, it was time for me and Kaelyn's date. She didn't feel like going anywhere, so I got Marley & Me to watch. I do NOT recommend that movie. ***SPOILER ALERT*** The dog dies at the end of the movie. I had to leave the room. After the movie was over, Kevin said, "Well that was a great movie to watch at the end of a crappy day." I guess I didn't take that into consideration. Sunday morning, I woke up at 550a. Not because of Rory..or Logan..or even Marley, but because of KEVIN! On the one day Rory and Logan decide to sleep in or at least be quiet, Kevin's bladder has to ruin it. The kids were really good. It was a great day. They got to play outside a lot, and we went to Nana and Papa's for dinner. Rory did not get one timeout the whole day. That's just amazing. We're hoping they noticed the difference in the day from them sleeping this morning.

All in all, it was a good weekend. We didn't get to do the stuff we wanted done this weekend, so we'll have to try and fit it into the week. So what should I title this blog? I know!

Again!

You know how somtimes you go through a whole day thinking it's a different day? Well, I went through all day yesterday thinking it was Friday. I kept forgetting it was only Thursday. So, I don't blog on Fridays. It didn't help that I went out last night too. I had a meet up with Jessica and we went over some home school stuff I had that she wanted to know about. It ended up being a really late night, and I didn't have my phone. So Kevin was here worrying. I'm really upset about that. So, I'm going to blog tonight because I have things to say. For this week only, a Saturday morning blog! Stay tuned!

I Regret To Inform You...

that I will not be blogging tonight. It was a late night with the store, the gym, and a teenager trying to finish a SCRAPBOOK by her last day of school...TOMORROW! So, I'm going to feed Marley and getting my bottom to bed. Tomorrow I am off to the Oncologist to find out my DETAILED results of my scans. Who knew I would have to pay so much to get my results as to book a whole appt because he won't call me. Oh well. Have a fantabulous weekend! I will be watching my husband try to cut down a tree. :) I have a feeling this will make for a great Monday morning blog.

Watch Out for that Tree!!!

So I didn't feel like typing the whole "George, George, George of the jungle...watch out for that tree!" but that's what I was referring to in the title. Whew! Enough explanation. Well, a little more actually. I went to the gym this evening with Rory at 4p. The thunderstorms started when we got there. We left an hour later and saw the power out everywhere. When we got home, Kevin escorted me with my eyes closed to the back door, and then moved his hand. Here is what I saw.

And this...

This...

Kevin said it didn't make a sound. We're guessing it was the wind. Good thing we had to get one of those electric saws a while back to cut the limb that was over the church roof next door. This, unfortunately, was not the other limb that we still have to take care of that's hanging over the roof of the church. Sorry...I have a thing for prepositions. Kevin went outside to further investigate with pictures.

This is the view from the walkway to the deck.

Close-up...

This is from the backyard looking up. It looks much bigger from this angle. It broke the trellis surrounding the grill. That stinks, but it will fit in nicely with our half finished projects decor. :) I'm glad that no one was hurt. It was never something I worried about...those trees coming down on the house because both of them are angled away from the house. I guess I get to add a new fear to my list. Yay! Not!

Italy - Day 4

On Tuesday morning of our trip, we woke early.  We had an appt. for a Scavi Tour at 930a and had to be there at 915a.  When Kevin called t...
