Happy Valentine's Day!

This is my valentine. HA! He's going to kill me for putting this picture up, but I thought it would be funny. He was trying on his tough guy face...Kevin? Tough guy? Doesn't fit. That's a good thing. Anyway, we relaxed this weekend which was nice. Had dinner at Nana and Papa's. Kevin just looked over my shoulder and told me I wasn't nice. Most people would take the picture down, but instead, I'll post another one in a better "light."
Uuuummmm...I better quit while I'm ahead. :)
I love you!

Rory Hot Dog

So the kids were playing downstairs yesterday, and I had gone upstairs to do something. Rory started screaming that she was stuck. Kevin went downstairs to see what the problem was and came up laughing and asking where the camera was. I came downstairs and saw this. Rory had crawled into a pocket of our princess tent and couldn't get out. She was literally sandwiched in there. It was funny. Logan wanted to do it after her, but we were very adamant that he would get hurt because he's a lot shorter than Rory, and he wouldn't be able to breathe through the fabric. Nothing like primal fear to stop your kids from doing something. That's called good parenting.

Marley's New Toy

So Nicole got each of the kids a toy the other day. Marley got bath crayons that Rory and Logan were excited to play with too. So, I threw them all in there and let 'em go.
Rory kept screaming at me to take a picture of her flower. So here it is. I didn't take an afterward picture. It was a MESS! Thanks Nikki!!!!

The Many Looks of Marley

So Marley has been stepping out on her own with her many looks. Here are just a few. I'll have to make sure to get the picture of the "Super Elephant" Kevin got on his phone today.

Please keep in mind that Marley comes up with these things and asks us to put them on.

Please notice her shoe in this pic. Rory, Logan, and Daddy were all outside, so she went and got Logan's shoe and put it on. I took it off after this picture, and she put it back on again. Don't worry...I dressed her up and put her outside after she put it back on again.

snow

I purposely put that in lower case letters, so it knows it doesn't get the best of me. Here are the pics of our snowfall. I hear that there's more to come. Share my excitement. Yay.
This was our front porch scene after Kevin shoveled to the ground. Can you believe that?

At least the kids are getting some quality playtime. ALL of them. :)

You Should See The Other Guy

Poor, poor Marley. Here is a run down on Marley's injuries as of late.
Not a great picture, but notice the bruise on the top right of her head (your right). On Thursday I was changing her into her clothes in Logan and Rory's room. The changing pad is in front of the window. I saw Kaelyn get off the bus, so I stood Marley up to wave. Kaelyn followed the path down to where Marley couldn't see her anymore. So Marley leaned forward and tried to take a step to continue to wave to Kaelyn. Her foot got stuck in the changing pad and she fell face forward without catching herself with her hands and bashed her head on the windowsill. It was bad and angry looking for a while, but she was fine.
On Friday we were making a last minute dash to Walmart for a bunch of things we didn't need. I had Rory and Logan, and Kevin had Marley. I was in the middle of an aisle when I heard someone crying. I turned to Rory and Logan and told them it sounded like Marley and started running toward the cry. I got in the main aisle and saw Kevin holding a screaming Marley. She had fallen flat on her face on the Walmart floor. Here is a snap of her busted lip. Please excuse the bit of food gathered in the corner of her mouth. That really bothers me too if it makes you feel any better. Anyway, it bled a little bit, but she stopped crying. She sucked on it for a while because it was so fat. It's still there, but it's going away.

In case you're wondering, yes...I'm still glad she's leaning toward this tomboy thing. I think these latest injuries are trophies in her tomboy lifestyle. As long as social services backs off (COMPLETELY KIDDING!!!)...Hopefully she heals up soon, but for now we're telling people, "you should see the other guy."

Wild Horses

So I have a bin in the living room full of clothes going to Lucy's. There's also clothes on top of it that I just haven't taken care of yet because they don't fit in the bin. Rory decided to move this bin and other various toys in the living room and build a barrier that she called a stable. Then she became a horse. Logan decided to jump in and play and before I knew it, Marley was in there too. I don't know why this picture won't turn out correctly, but I've tried for a while and it's not working, so turn your head to the side and suck it up.

Eventually Marley wasn't keen on being a horse anymore. Or at least she didn't think she needed to lay down anymore.
Luckily, Rory has realized that the bin can be moved farther out, and the stable has been enlarged. Unfortunately, Logan and Marley don't want to be horses all the time, so for now, Rory is our lone horse. Beats being a wacko.

The Littlest Wacko

I know that my kids are crazy. I admit that wholeheartedly. Seeing their personalities emerge is one of my favorite parts of parenting. I try to see who they are taking after, but some things leave me at a loss. Marley is at a great age for emerging personality moments. Here are a couple I'm trying to figure out.

1. She lifts her pants and then walks around. She does this quite often, and so far I can't find a rhyme or reason. It's hilarious.

2. She recently put herself in the dinosaur box. This isn't anything strange. Kids love putting themselves into boxes or laundry baskets. What makes this different is that the dinosaurs were still in it. She started taking some out, so Kevin grabbed the box, dumped it out, and put her in it. She started to whine and put the dinosaurs back in. Kevin cleaned up the dinosaurs and put them back in the box, and she got back in. Weird.

These are things that I chalk up to them being their own people. I wouldn't liken this to Kevin or myself. She joins the other wackos just fine.

David and Goliath

When I found out that Marley was going to be a girl, I told everyone that I was going to tie her to Logan, so she could be a tomboy. I didn't want another girly girl like Rory...although Rory can hold her own around the boys too. Well, a year and a half into my experiment, here's what I've come up with.

I think it's working. Muwahahaha!

Baby's Got Back

Did that title catch ya? There are certain things that tall people have that short people don't. Big backs. Well, maybe not big but long. For instance, put an elephant mask on Kevin and what do you get? An elephant.
The tribal man that owns the elephant got stuck underneath for this shot. Oops! Then there's this...where all the kids fit on his back at once.
Marley had a lot of fun with this one.
Check out that cheese!!! I can only fit Marley at most on my back. I wish I was tall.

Italy - Day 4

On Tuesday morning of our trip, we woke early.  We had an appt. for a Scavi Tour at 930a and had to be there at 915a.  When Kevin called t...
