The Owl

Last weekend Kevin went down to the garage to get some milk. He told us that there was an owl sitting on the concrete rubble next door. We grabbed the three young ones (Kaelyn was at a sleepover) and went to check it out. Here's what we saw...
It's a Great-Horned Owl. Isn't it awesome?!?! So Kaelyn came home with an extra credit project called Edible Art. It had a Halloween theme, and she asked me what was scary. I said an owl. A couple of days later, this was sitting in my fridge.

Here's what left the house for the competition...
All of it had to be edible. So this is rice krispies treats, almonds on the chest, m&m eyes, corn pops cereal beak, and pretzel talons. Unfortunately, this won...
I think it was a great turn-out for a last minute, fly by the seat of her pants project. There is no limit to her talent. I just wish she would realize it and put in the effort.

Good night...and if I don't see you later...good morning and good afternoon

The answer to the question yesterday is The Arctic Ocean...and Whose Line Is It Anyway. Great job Kevin! (gurgling noise from sticking finger down throat)

Caught Red Handed!

My name is Nora Bucy, and I am addicted to popcorn balls.

I'm thinking I might be on to something starting each blog with a confession. :) Anyway, I do...I am...addicted to popcorn balls. I hate how they stick in my teeth, but the sweet taste of eating them and knowing they're filling and 100 calories keeps me picking my teeth. I blame Renee for this obsession. She started it.

Kevin and I were trying to get lunch together the other day, and this happened.

Thief! Caught in the act. If only she knew the joy and rapture of eating one of these tasty treats, but alas, it is not meant to be for dear Marley. I'm going to wait for her to get some more teeth. Then again, she could always ask Papa. I hear he starts them early with jelly beans and Batman.

C-ya

The answer to yesterday's question is Canada. Everyone gets 1000 points. What show is that from?

Trick or Treat

My name is Nora Bucy, and I have never seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Now that I have that off my chest, let's trick or treat.

The strip mall up the street had a trick or treat event at their stores this past weekend. The kids were all excited to get all dressed up, and Rory asked if the Scotts could come with us. So I had her call and ask. They were able to make it, and here are some pics from mine and Jessica's camera. Hers are all the ones from the event because I FORGOT MY CAMERA. There I said it.

This is our latest quack to wear this costume. It has been through Rory, Logan, and now Marley.

We can't find a picture of Rory in it, but I know there's gotta be one somewhere. This is Logan sporting the quack costume. Check out the hat not fitting.

Ok, Ok, Wonder Woman's costume is a bit small. I should've gotten the next size up, but I didn't so we're going to get over it. And those are the pink shorts I made her wear under it.

This is why people are scared of clowns. Seriously, there are phobias out there.

It was a great time, and now we have candy to give out to the four kids that will come to our house on Halloween. Hasta Manana!

The answer to yesterday's question was Italy. And the answer to Nana's question in the comments is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

The Great Pumpkin Patch Part II

Moving on with some more pictures...

Kaelyn and Rory wanted to go into the corn maze, so we made them take Logan too. We gave Kaelyn my cell phone and took off with Marley. We were going to go back for them...we were...really. This is what Marley was busy doing. Those are corn kernels. What a great idea!?

Eventually they found us.

That's all folks! My husband has decided to hijack my blog, so I'm going to add a new column of "Question of the Day." They're going to be general questions from a book titled, "100 Things Every Person Should Know." Peace Out! By the way...the answer to yesterday's post is 42.

The Great Pumpkin Patch!

Every year we have a tradition of going to Butler's Orchard for their pumpkin festival. We take a hayride to the pumpkin patch, we go down giant slides, we frolick on hay bales, go through mazes, we go on pony rides, and eat caramel apples freshly made. We've been doing this for four years now. Recently while driving through my home town, I noticed a sign advertising for a pumpkin festival at a farm down the street from us. I looked it up online, and it's almost exactly like the festival at Butler's Orchard which is VERY expensive and a half hour away, but it's MUCH cheaper and only 5 minutes away.

We had a truly great time, so I'm just going to roll through pictures and comment only when I have to. Let's do it...

This was one of the huge worms that served as entertainment while we waited for a hayride.

Farmer Marley...that's a piece of hay she's chewing on.
Kevin and I decided that we either have to have two more kids or ask someone to take a family picture. Vote Now!
There's more, but this is already really long, so I'll post the other half tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I think they're pretty good if I do say so myself. See ya!

Not Feeling It

I'm exhausted. I'm sure Nana is even more exhausted. It was a hectic day. I'm glad it's over. I hope it NEVER happens again. Enough about that. Have you met Logan?

This is Logan sitting on a plastic container. When I asked him what he was doing, he said he was pottying. Why he won't "potty" on the real potty is beyond me.

They look so much alike!

Sorry...this has nothing to do with Logan, but it's still a cute picture.

And that's all I have tonight folks. I just don't have anything else in me. Have a great weekend!

Cheers!

Crazy Hair Day

Rory had "Crazy Hair Day" at school today. We borrowed some colored hair spray from her cousin and went to town. I made four separate pony tails and spray painted all but the one in back. For you visual learners out there....
Try to notice the one stray strand of hair that stands up straight in the top ponytail parting. She loved that thing and kept playing with it. I sprayed it all and then completely forgot to take a picture. I went running outside when Nana was about to pull away and snapped those few. Logan wanted his done too, so I did the blue and purple. I heard this little Kevin voice in my head chastising me for using the pink, so I didn't. It didn't show up very well in his hair which surprised me since he's blond.
He immediately asked for orange, but I didn't have any. So as any good mother would do, I went an bought him SPARKLY orange hair spray. He didn't nap because he was so excited to put it on and pick Rory up from school. I forgot to ask Nana everyone's reaction, but he looked pretty cute. See?

Kevin came home and sprayed the back some more. I like how he almost perfectly matched his socks. It was fun and harmless so a good time. Next month is polka dot or plaid day. I'll have to start planning now. On another note, I will tell you that it was a bit embarrassing having him run through Walmart with his hair blue and purple and screaming, "Mommy! Why you wacko?!" It might have been a tad alarming if I wasn't his mother. He was far enough ahead of me that I completely ignored him, and no one caught on that he was mine. I hope so at least. It was pretty funny.

Gracias!

Italy - Day 4

On Tuesday morning of our trip, we woke early.  We had an appt. for a Scavi Tour at 930a and had to be there at 915a.  When Kevin called t...
