It's Raining...It's Pouring

I should be snoring...but I'm not. I don't have much to say today. I'm going to sit in my quiet house with three sleeping children, one at a volleyball game, and the other at the gym. :) I'm going to listen to it rain. I think you should do the same. Good night and sweet dreams.

Are You Ready to Rumble?

Me neither. Yesterday my post was hate and discord. When I sat down tonight to write this post, I realized that the closest thing to controversy in my life is that I'm eating a Hostess Cupcake while watching The Biggest Loser. So I'm going to stick to what I know...my kids...my life, because when I think about it, it's not that bad. Besides, Rory decided to learn something new today, and I'm tickled about it. We went to Nana and Papa's to ride bikes today. Rory picked up some yarn and a crocheting book and asked Nana to teach her. Nana started out with a simple practice knot for her. Rory came home and worked on it. By the way, Rory's on a quote kick.




Isn't that great? Other than that, Kevin got to come home a little earlier since he had to work in the middle of the night last night. We went to the park just as it began to sprinkle. We turned around to head to the library and it stopped sprinkling. So we went to a different park. When we got out of the car, Kevin found $5 on the ground. I started to look around in case some other bills were blown away a little. No luck. Marley got to partake in some playground activities too. We got to get that girl some shoes!



So there you have it. No burning, rebelling, controversy. Disappointed? I didn't think so. That's not to say that there won't be times that I'll have such things, but right now, I don't. Peace out!

Blog Ramblings

When I first started this blog, I intended for it to be a way to get out my every day frustrations or adult conversation that I might not be getting at home during the day. I knew that some of them would be about my kids and family, but I didn't want them to only be about that. So things are going to change. I'm going to get daring. I'm going to get controversial. I want to rebel, start a revolution. Burn a flag, a book, and bra...

And I'm going to start tomorrow because I went to Kaelyn's volleyball game tonight. They won by the way. I'm sure Kaelyn will say that she didn't do as well as she normally does because we were there or something. She normally does say such things.

Today went well. Logan, Marley, and I went for a walk. We had some quiet play time. We danced to the radio, to the Wiggles, cleaned, did our nails...well, not so much on that last one...but we could have. It was a little more relaxing than having three.

So...adieu...until tomorrow...

Kaelyn's Blog

I figure I do so much of the youngin's that I should do a whole blog about Kaelyn for once. Here's a couple of her masterpieces to show you what she's been up to. I really only see her from 6-10p because of school and volleyball. I try to catch up with her on weekends, but that doesn't always work.

This is me. She had to draw someone for homework and asked if she could draw me. It was tiring sitting there and not being able to move. I kept complaining. She drew me in 45 minutes. Amazing.

She also had to draw a picture of herself holding something. This is her holding fake grapes.

The volleyball team has a game called "Dig for the Cure." They get sponsors to pay money per dig. A dig in volleyball is when the player has to dive to the floor and hit the ball which makes it over the net. Each one of these they do during the game, the sponsors pay money to the cancer charity. This year they're focusing on breast cancer because..who isn't? Anyway, they asked the girls to come up with the design for the "Dig for the Cure" shirts. Here's what Kaelyn came up with.

The girls said they liked the first design. The coach told her it could only be two colors, so Kaelyn's working on it. I'll post the final picture when I get it. She's up against another girl's design. I would personally wear any of these designs on my shirt even though it is for breast cancer. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great to donate money to breast cancer research, but I would like to see more interest in Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Maybe I'm biased. Here's another masterpiece from Kaelyn.

She lettered in academics. Isn't that something? That will look good on college applications.

So that's it. Congrats Kaelyn! You have crazy talent!

Rory's EEG

Rory had her EEG today. In case nobody has experienced one, I got it on film. Rory did great and everyone will be glad to know that she's normal...relatively speaking. No seizures, no tumors, no abnormalness. She's fine...she just doesn't sleep. Yay. Here is what the process looked like.

We took pictures during the process to show Rory what she looked like. She liked this a lot. Then she asked for me to take a video.

This is the slow process of putting suckers all over Rory's head.

After all the little suckers were applied, they wrapped her head in gauze, so they didn't move.

For the sake of the blog, I am posting this pic. Kevin and I got to lay down beside Rory for her EEG. She started freaking out at one point, so to calm her down I started telling her a story that was a mix of American Girl Felicity and the movie Flicka.

They gave us a comb. This is Rory at the Neurologist appt that they apparently didn't save into the computer. So the appt time was double booked and because the other people got there first, we had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes. Don't get me started. After her neurology appt, we jetted back to the house to shower Rory before her eye appt. where we were told she has 20/20 vision.

Nana watched Logan and Marley this whole time except for the eye appt. What did she get to do?

She got to take these hoodlums for a walk, and feed them, and put them down for naps, and get them up from naps, and do the dishes, and probably a bunch of things I don't know about yet. So that was it.

By the way, to the gentleman in the back...the one with all the comments...I graded my favorite blogs by ones where I didn't feel like I wrote like a babbling idiot. So while I love every one of them and the first kisses, and the first stands, and the first winks, and the beach, and everything else....I think they could've been written better. So I'll make you a deal, if I'm still blogging in a year, the anniversary will have nothing to do with my favorites of anything! Capice?! Ciao!

Rory's Picture Shoot

Rory went to Lucy's with her own money the other day. She brought $9. She immediately picked out a dress and coat outfit that was $11. She wanted a lot of other things too. Once it came down to the wire, she got the dress and coat. When the cashier asked her where she was going to wear this dress, she responded, "on my travels." The cashier asked where she was traveling to, and Rory said, "I go wherever she goes," and pointed at me. It was cute because I let the lady know that I don't go anywhere, so I don't know where she was going to wear it to. Today Rory wore her dress and coat to her school orientation. She got MANY compliments. I did a photo shoot of her in the dress and coat. I'm going to post every pic of how it went because if all else fails, this girl can be a model.
