It's Been a Minute

 I can't believe it's been seven months since I wrote something here.  My apologies.  I don't even have an excuse.  Let's see what you've missed.

Of course there's been more than that happening, but for now, it's a catch up with pictures.  We are officially on spring break.  The weather is getting hotter, the kids are getting more bored, it's nice.  We have a few happenings this summer.  I'll try to keep you up to date.  Until next time!

What's Happening, Bucys?

 It's been a minute, huh?  Things are happening.  We're in full swing of school.  Logan and Marley got jobs at a local pumpkin patch for 6 weeks which threw our schooling into a frenzy.  It's been hard on them, but it's over this weekend, so we can get back to our regularly scheduled schooling.  It was a great experience for both of them.  Marley became the face of the patch with doing a bunch of tic-toks for the farm.  Logan was the regular pizza dude which he mastered.  Money was earned and now we're trying to teach about tithing and almsgiving.  Rory's been going to beauty school and is about to start her second job.  K'lyn is well with her work.  To catch you up, I'm going to roll photos.

I didn't mean for this post to be all about Mouse, but he is what's happening.  He is OBSESSED with the printer.  He sits on top and swats at the paper as it comes out.  I was his platform this day.  

He loves his daddy too.  He was just lounging there while Kevin pet him.  It was funny.

Mouse also likes to take Relic's beds.  I put one in his room each night, normally the one Relic isn't in at bedtime.  We came home to this one day.  Relic's last stand!

This is Marley as Little Red.  

More farm.  Just Kevin and I went this time and watched Marley call the pig races!  She was great!  They're grooming her for next year.  

Kevin and I surprised the kids by getting tickets to HAMILTON!  All our kids are theater kids.  We're already looking at what other shows we're going to try and get to.  We already have Newsies booked in February.  

I went to the grocery store on halloween morning, and Marley asked to go.  She left the house like this and was not the only person dressed up shopping at the store that morning.  I wasn't, but I was surprised how many other people were dressed up shopping.  

Halloween night pictures.  Marley decided to go as a cow that night.  Rory was a Renaissance elf and her boyfriend was a Renaissance hunter.  

All in all time is flying by.  I'm not going to make any promises about blogging more since that never turns out well.  I will do my best.  HAPPY NOVEMBER!

Happy Birthday, Bob!!!

 Today is the birthday of Marz, Marzipan, Bob, Mars Bars, Hot TaMarley, Marsupial, etc.  I'm sure there are more, and I just can't think about them.  She is the big 14.  She is most looking forward to riding in the front seat.  It's funny what these kids think of.  I remember when K'lyn was looking forward to calling one of those numbers that said you had to be 18 years old to call.  The problem with Marz riding shotgun is that she will now have to fight her older brother for it, so I worry about her safety.  I have fond memories of fighting Seester for the front seat.  I'm sure my mom does too.  NOT

Here are some things you may or may not know about Marz.  First, some pics throughout time.

Ahem, apparently we're missing one since she's seen it in the theater five times now.  Six as of next Sunday when we finally take our priest to see it.  It's been a feat trying to get him there all summer.  You could say that Marz liked this movie.  Maybe.

In random order, let me tell you about Marz.

This is how she can normally be found, cuddled up reading a book.  She likes her books like she likes her movies, and reads them again and again.  

Momma to Boone.  She organized a whole birthday party for him this year and invited the neighbors.  She's better friends with them than I am.  :)

If she doesn't have her nose in a book, she can be found stealing my phone and taking selfies with her partner in crime, Mouse.

She tried theater camp this summer and is HOOKED.  She wants to watch and listen to all things Broadway.  For her movie tonight, she has requested Newsies.  Someone has been bit by the drama bug (the good one).

I once complained that I needed to hire a personal assistant and Marz volunteered.  She's great!  She remembers things we need from the store, why we're at the store, why I walked into a room, etc.  She's a mini me, so she can read my mind well.  

There's an age gap in the school system from where we moved from to where we moved to.  Here she should be a freshman in high school already.  Since we homeschool, she's taking on more classes to go into her sophomore year next year.  We'll see if she makes it! ;)

We got her an actual haircut from a place where they charge more than $10 a haircut.  She looks so old in this pic.  She normally just wears her hair back in a ponytail, but I love it when she just lets it down.  

Happy birthday to my right hand gal who knows no strangers.  Some of the friends I have are my friends because they were Marley's friends first.  Seriously.  She can talk to anyone and even emails teachers that have become friends.  I don't even email these people.  She's a bright, joyful young lady, and I'm so glad to be walking this life with her.  Happy birthday, Hot TaMarley!  Thanks for getting me back to blogging.  I love you so much!

May-Day Book

Outside my window...

It looks like it's going to rain.  It's fairly warm, high 70's, but I think the humidity is bad too.  We have the windows open which is nice.

I am thankful for...

A day where I have the time to sit and blog.  We have been running.  Today has been a lot of running, but I might be done for the day.  We still need to pick up Logan, but Kevin will probably go so I don't have to.

I am thinking about...

Summer!  I can't wait!  Two more weeks and we're there.  What normally happens is I start taking on all these small summer projects until my summer isn't restful either.  Hopefully I can catch it before it happens.  I'm also thinking about the new school year already.  I want to be prepared and have lessons done before the new year starts.  I think I say this every summer.

From the kitchen...

Kevin and I are about to start our eating healthy again.  We fell off the wagon for Rory's birthday, but hopefully we can climb back on before chopping it up, selling the wood, and buying cupcakes.  

I am creating...

Nothing.  I have things to paint for Atrium, but I haven't gotten there yet.  Maybe once school is done, I can sit down and crank them out.  Who am I kidding?!

I am working on...

Budgeting.  I'm not good at it, and I forget about a lot of things, but I keep trying.

I am reading...

True Devotion to the Holy Spirit by Luis M. Martinez.  I'm in a bookclub!  It's a group from church.  I love it so far.  This is the second book we're reading.  I'm excited for it because I seem to be in a phase where the Holy Spirit is trying to tell me something, and I need to listen.  I haven't started the book yet, but our first meeting is the last week of the month, and we're to read 10 chapters.  I hope I can make it!

I am praying for...

A lot.  If you're reading this, I'm probably praying for you.  ;)

I am hearing...

Birds and my phone vibrating because Logan is texting me that he's on break.  He went to an all day CPR/First Aid certification class.  He says everyone has passed everything so far!

Around the house...

Things are getting done when they get done.  I try to keep up vacuuming, but this darn dog sheds so much.  The kids are good about helping as long as I ask.  I sat them down the other day and explained to them that they were all old enough to look around and see what needs done and do it without me asking.  For instance, if there's a piece of trash on the floor, I shouldn't have to point it out and ask them to pick it up while they're passing it.  

Also, we got a new quilt for the bed.  Our other blanket was a winter blanket.  I used a birthday giftcard and found a pretty cheap one with great reviews.  So far I think it's great!  I don't like the color, but oh well.

One of my favorite things...

We still have family prayer every night.  We've pretty much always done this, but during COVID we added the family Rosary.  Sometimes it's hard, and it's late, and everyone's cranky, but we still pray it, and it's beautiful.  

A few plans for the rest of the week...

Well, it's Saturday, so there's school all next week except for Friday because that co-op is finally done!  It's the last week of school (except for a Monday class the following week) which means it's the get everything together for the last day madness.  Sometimes I get myself into pickles when I try to do too much, and this last week of school is no different.  I hope I make it!

I haven't done a blog in I don't know how long.  I realized that when the main person you're blogging for is no longer there, it's a lot harder to blog.  So I changed my person of whom I'm blogging for.  ;)  Here's to many more blogs hopefully to come!

SHE:

•  Is not feeling well but came for a visit for my birthday
• rocking her work as assistant manager doing ART!
• Is still a master procrastinator and embraces it fully
• Turned to me in Mass the other night and told me that when I was her age I had a 10yr and a 2yr.  I told her I didn't recommend it.  ;)
• Is a momma to Mo the moss ball

SHE:

• Has fully embraced dating and that's all I have to say about that
• Is a hard worker when she is able to wake herself up for her shifts. ;)
• Has planned her next five years of life - You know what God says when you make plans right?
• Rocking all things make-up
• Is a momma to Hiccup the cat

HE:

• Is a sophomore in high school and has managed to keep his eyes on his studies this year
• Is learning to drive.  I expected him to be a different student for some reason.  As if boys have an inherent ability to just know how to drive or something.  Is that sexist?  Anyway, he's learning just like his sisters did.  We're making him learn stick shift too.  He doesn't like it.
• Has excelled at social distancing these past two years and made it into an art form. ;)
• Is happy reading Manga, watching Anime, or eating (bonus for all three together!)
• Is a papa to Soap the gecko

SHE:

• Has come into her own as little momma of the family
• Is my personal assistant which is a title I just gave her because she's my right hand gal
• Has different relationships with all of her siblings just like old times.  Clashes with K'lyn, Journals with Rory, and takes whatever she can get from Logan
• Is the most organized with all her hoarding.  All of the kids are hoarders to some extent 
• Is also the momma to Boone the hamster
