My Bubble

This blog is coming to you motivated by an angry Miss Mar.  She keeps ragging on me that I said I would blog more frequently, so to get her off my back, here we go.  We're getting back into the groove post C-word.  Sometimes I'm fine and other times I get winded so easily.  I'm hoping to get back to running on the treadmill soon.  Maybe the holiday breaks will bring exercise.  I'll probably need it!

I have no claims to this pic.  Mars obviously took it.

We finally got a fire going this season.  Unfortunately I think that when we have a fire, it makes Rory's room colder.  She has since acquired a heater, so hopefully that will help.

This is Hiccup's new favorite place in the house.  Relic is jealous because he's not allowed on the rug in this room, but I still see him catching glances outside.  I know he longs for his daddy, so I let him just sit there sometimes.

This car already rules the roost.  Rory lets him up on the couch against my wishes.  This is the very reason it's against my wishes because he thinks he can just get up on the couch now even when she's not there.  No bueno.

Guess who showed up at our co-op last week?!  Jim Caviezel!  He's the guy who played Jesus in the movie The Passion.  It was so exciting!  He gave the kids a talk about the right to life and then visited with people after.  I didn't fangirl at all and went back to my lunch monitoring post.

Our co-op had a How Down and Chili Cook off over the weekend.  I volunteered Kevin and I to work the ticket table.  I think the kids had fun.  They both had friends there.  I think we all had a good time.

This is a towel we have at the back door to dry Relic off when he goes out in the rain.  Sometimes he just likes to lie down in them.  Hiccup seems to think it's a good idea too.  He's so cute here!

I was trying to get everyone together to make a video of us singing happy birthday to a friend, and Logan snapped a pic instead.  Chaos!

And saving the best for last, this is Logan and I dancing at the Hoe Down.  He asked me to dance because his friend made him, but I'll take it!  You might notice Mars in the background dragging her friend around the dance floor.  She didn't even mean to photobomb since we didn't know Kevin was taking pics.  It's funny.  Excuse my fat arse in the pic.  Ugh.

Other than all this, I'm looking forward to the break next week.  Even though you would think we would rest, it's actually pretty busy.  This weekend is helping our friends move, K'lyn's birthday bash (including her beau who had a birthday recently too), and getting ready for her actual birthday and Thanksgiving.  Whew!  I might need a holiday from this holiday.

Happy Halloween and Other Things

Before you get too mad about me not blogging all of October, we had COVID.  Since everyone can use that excuse for all things these days, mine is actually legit.  We all had COVID.  I'll have a different blog to that although Kevin told me yesterday to stop telling people we had it since they treat you like you have the plague.  For this blog, since it's been a while, I'm going to run with pictures.

Relic and Hiccup bonding.

Kevin had a great idea to have a fire pit at the end of the driveway while we handed out candy.  All the parents loved it and said they were stealing it themselves for next year.

We had our friends over to come trick-or-treating.

We made it to a pumpkin patch!

The boys disappeared and didn't tell the girls they were at the pumpkins cannons.  They were actually firing apples.

Mar at the top of a hay mountain.

Mar was so proud of this photo bomb.

We made extra sure that we would have enough candy.  We have a lot leftover.

Rory wanted me to get a pic of her sleeping with her cat.  When I was trying to get this picture, Logan was on his VR headset, so he couldn't see me.  I was hit in the thigh and the back of my head for this picture.

Mars carved this pumpkin.  A lot of people commented about how good it was.

Little Red Riding Hood and her Big Bad Wolf.

The girls were invited to a murder mystery speak-easy birthday part, but they couldn't go because of COVID.  This was Marley's costume she had bought and ended up returning.

Unfortunately this is NOT Rory dressing up but actually going out into public.  She was playing with make-up and did go out, but she was being silly and doesn't actually wear this much.

Hiccup sleeping next to Relic's bowl.

Relic thinks he's still a lapdog.

I think I posted this for the kids going to the dance.

Rory's way too big Captain America whatever they're called.
These two decided to be a starving artist and a musician.

K'lyn was the "This is fine" dog meme.  The kids had to show me the meme.  I didn't get it.
She made her boyfriend and family grandma's chocolate "ghost" pie for dessert.

and her stuffed pumpkin peppers for dinner.  She's made this dinner before and added green mac-n-cheese, but I guess she left it out for this dinner.  ;)

I hope this is enough to make up for my absence.  Coming into the holidays, I should be posting more regularly, MAYBE.

I Forgot!!!

I apologize for my gross negligence in failing to state five things you make not know about Marley.  I was not yelled at for not doing this nor reminded a hundred times to do it.  Here we go...

1. Marley is a mini-me even though she's almost as tall as me.  We tend to have the same thoughts and opinions on matters and try to take care of everyone.  She's a mini-mother.

2. She has an obsession with small things.  There's some toy thing out that has everything in miniature.  For example they have a miniature Cheez-It box and other grocery items, but they're all tiny.  She has a habit of collecting these smallish things which leads me to #3.

3. She is an organized hoarder.  I didn't think it was possible either, but she has so much stuff, and she can still find and pull out anything you ask for.

4. Marley is FEARLESS.  Earlier this year she went to a dance at school by herself without knowing if any of her friends would be there.  No sibling went with her, and she was perfectly fine and had a great time.  I would have never done that at her age or even now for that matter.  FEARLESS

5. She's pretty self-sufficient.  She can take care of herself and even doesn't fret when trying to figure out how to do something new.  For instance, when she's mailing a package, she just brings it to me all done, tape, and addressed.  Normally I would have to do all those things for other kids at her age.  Maybe she learned it by being the youngest and being completely observant of her siblings, but it still shocks me sometimes.

BONUS 6. Marley is not your average teen.  She loves her braces, looks forward to her retainer, loves approaching strangers to ask whatever question so her introverted family members don't have to, treats her hamster like a king, and a whole bunch of other things that don't scream teen to me.  She's an absolute delight, and I have no idea what I would do without her.

Happy Birthday, Marley!  Thank you for being amazing!  I love you, Momma.

Happy Birthday, hot TaMarley!!!!!!

Miss Thing had her birthday a bit ago, and I'm just now blogging.  Honestly, it's hard because I started this blog because Papa was alway bugging me for info and pics.  It's weird to think he won't be commenting anymore.

Miss Mar's birthday went well.  She had Panera for breakfast because she was being glutenized for her special day.  We were supposed to head to Grandma and Gecko's for lunch, but there was a health issue, so we stayed home and K'lyn came out.  We had Glory Days because they have a whole gluten free menu for those of us not being glutenized.  We had a lazy afternoon, and the birthday girl wanted MacDonald's for dinner.  Bleh!

She opened a thousand gifts (a little exaggeration) and had a great day.  I love that as they grow older they grow out of the need for extravagant celebrations; although there was plenty of balloons, presents, sweets, and food for one.  We're still waiting for her birthday lunch at Grandma and Gecko's which will hopefully happen soon.  Until then, rolling pics that I have.

This is her FAVORITE present.  Does everyone recognize Mr. James Buchanan Barnes (A.k.a. Bucky)?  This is a blanket Rory got her, and she wears it like this around the house.

Kevin and I didn't think through this whole three teenagers at once thing.  Here are some other things happening around the house.

The official back to school pics.  One without Rory and one with celebrating Rory.  This pic makes me laugh every time I see it.  It's hilarious.

This was Marley's entry to a contest at her Orthodontics office.  It had to be a summer photo wearing the shirt.  She got her hamster involved, and I love the pic (even if it doesn't win).
Meanwhile in Roryland.  Her and Hiccup.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARSBARS!  I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, AND I'M SO PROUD OF THE YOUNG LADY YOU ARE BECOMING.

Two for Two!

I made it back, and it wasn't that long!  Continuing on with the pic collage of 2026.  Here we roll... January This guy's birthday...
